Gold for Kimi at Silverstone..

Kimi Raikkonen has won the British GP. Thanks to Raikkonen, Lewis Hamilton the pole position holder slipped from the first to the third. His team-mate, McLaren's Fernando Alonso came second, due to a bad pit-stop and a poor tyre choice by Hamilton.

Kimi now has two back-to-back victories, which have come after a span of almost 2 years. While, Hamilton now has nine consecutive podium finishes.

"Fernando came in early for his second stop and I was able to push hard for six laps. I came out in front and it was very easy. I have to say it's a very nice feeling to win here." said Raikkonen.

Alonso was relatively happy with second, believing he could not have won the race given Raikkonen and Ferrari's performance.
"I was not able to open up a big enough gap to retain the lead after the first pit stop," said Alonso. "I hit a bit of traffic, and those six laps when Kimi had less fuel than me, the Ferrari was a bit too good today. Second place was the maximum I could have done. A win was not possible."
